Febrile seizures are the most prevalent type of seizure in infants. Multiple devices have been designed to detect these seizures, but these devices neither have a high success rate nor successfully prevent or treat the seizures. Research shows that applying cold temperatures to the brain can result in seizure arrest. Our device aims to reduce the duration of a secure by using a thermoelectric (TEC) module to cool the sensorimotor cortex at a depth of 1.7mm to 15 degrees Celcius.
